Y R whites so racist that they adopt a toddler from a foreign country rather than a healthy Black US infant?
Germans and Canadians are adopting Black infants from the U.S. while White Americans spend thousands of dollars to obtain toddlers from Asia and South America. Check adoption statistics to verify.
Once again I am astonished at the answers to these questions. Some from countries outside the US are indicative of the arrogance and entitlement of some of the people who are adopting. Clearly, since they are not in the United States, and are interested in further adoptions, they may just be protecting their own interests by clouding the issue with "we are family".
I believe that it is largely due to the desire to put a lot of distance between the natural parents and themselves. Mothers often discover that the people who adopted their children told them stories transferring the insecurities of the AP's onto the child. People who terrorize their children with stories of the big bad boogiemommie who will steal them in the night are likely looking for someone who is as far away as possible, and preferably conveniently dead.
There is also that prejudice thing against the blacks in the country. The child most preferred is a blue-eyed, blond-haired baby girl. That is the HWI of choice. The closer to that they can get the better. If you doubt that is true, check with an adoption social worker, or go to one of the sites online that prices them. The bargain babies are the black ones. Sickening, I know. Despite the continual barrage of naysaying, there is a deep and ingrained prejudice against dark skinned people, the darker the skin, the deeper the prejudice. And, as already been pointed out, it is not limited to this country.
I always find it interesting to see the justifications people use to excuse the worst and most despicable behaviors. It isn't a surprise to me that that goes on in this place, but the extent of it shocks me.
However, that isn't a huge surprise either, since the very valid question posed earlier this week by Gypsywinter about that fiend, Lombard who adopted a black child for sex on the internet, garnered only 4 responses and each of the responders got 1-3 thumbs down!
