Do green beans grow in cotton wool as well as they do in soil?
Can someone give me a link to a website that shows the growth curve of green beans(or any plants) in cotton wool and in soil? Also pictures taken after 1st week,2nd week,...,etc.
Cotton wool and soil are just the substrates. They both need nutrients in them to grow anything.
if u r looking for a study on cotton woolthen yes you might find a side by side grow. But, like i said, the thing is>nothing is going to grow in plain hydro just the same as nothing is going to grow in plain soil. You have to add nutrients and once you add nutrients, you get the same growth rate no matter what substrate you use. there is NO difference
maybe make ur own pix. it is fun to pop ur own text up there and also that way you will never be wrong. when u quote OTHER people then sometimes u can be wrong. and scientists are people. funny thing is>if u combined the cotton wool AND the soil and gave it a little time, it WOULD transform into a usable form of nutrients for the plant and so it would eventually be able to grow something. cotton is about 15% nitrogen by weight. hair is the same so i am gussing that wool is too. nitrogen is mostly what the soil needs to grow
^ and that is your N-P-K that the plant needs. the trace minerals are to be found in the soil just like the potassium (granite is 2 - 7 % potassium). Green beans are a legume. That means they have a certain type of chloroplast/cyanobacteria that lives in them that can get it's nitrogen from the air. Those bacteria are the ones who make the chlorophyll and so grow the plant. To actually produce a whole green bean plant off of it they cannot (i think i read peas can get 10% of their nitrogen needs from the air maybe beans are the same). some simple mosses can support themselves on the nitrogen in air i think? and some cyanobacteria can support themselves the same way, independent of a plant structure. our atmosphere is about 78% nitrogen. it is where we get lots of our chemical nitrogen fertilizer. We electrify it and so it condenses into a gatherable substance (anyhydrous ammonia). Green Cotton Perfromance "WIND" kit - Suzuki Swift 1.3Ddis
