Best dye to make a stubborn pair of pants turn black?
I'm trying to dye a pair of pants black (they were originally beige). They're a medium-weight fabric, about a pound total, and I've used 3 times as much RIT dye as the box said I should, but they got stuck on purple and they're staying there. Does anyone know what type of dye (rather than RIT I guess) or what type of technique that would make these annoying pants turn black? And I mean really black, not washed-out black. And how much should I use?
Try using hair dye.
I'm dead SERIOUS.
I used L'Oreal Feria about 2 boxes of it. I put it on my pants then put it in a small-medium sized bucket. I left it like that for like 25 minutes.
VOILA ! Black Pants 
They were originally grey btw.
